SEELINGER NAMED FINALIST FOR USHL FOTY & POTY

West Des Moines, Iowa — Buccaneers forward Ryan Seelinger was named a finalist for United States Hockey League Forward of the Year & Player of the Year following the 2025-26 season.

Seelinger led the Des Moines club in scoring and finished with the fifth-most points by a USHL skater with 68P (31G, 37A) through 61GP. The Miami University commit became the first Buccaneer since Trevor Lewis in the 2005-06 season to earn 30+ goals and 30+ assists in a single season.

"Ryan had a season for the ages," said Head Coach and President of Hockey Operations Derek Damon. "He led our team in almost every offensive category and it's no surprise to see him up for the top league awards. We couldn't be more proud of Ryan and his development this season. Ryan showed his flare for the dramatic scoring multiple over time goals and always pushing forward."

Seelinger netted six game-winning goals this season, three in sudden-death overtime. He put himself on the all-time single-season Buccaneers leaderboard with a +/- rating of +26 and shooting percantage of 19.7 and was a consistent member of the Bucs' power-play unit, tallying 4PPG and 15PPA on the season.

The 2005-born winger joined the Buccaneers as a Phase II Round 10 draft pick ahead of the 2024-25 season. His first year in Des Moines, he tallied 33P (14G, 19A), making an appearance in all 62GP for a total of 101P (45G, 56A) in 125GP through his USHL career. The Bucs are grateful for Seelinger's dedication to the team for the past two seasons and look forward to seeing him develop at the NCAA level and beyond.
