BUCS INCH PAST STAMPEDE 4-3

Sioux Falls, S.D. — The Des Moines Buccaneers (25-27-4-4) fought off the Sioux Falls Stampede (41-16-3-0), with a final score of 4-3 Tuesday night at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Bucs forward Owen Tylec led the Des Moines offense with a pair of goals, including the game-winner, as Luke Norcross netted his first USHL goal to put the Bucs on the board in the first. Alan Lendak (19-10-1-0) fought off 27 of 30 Stampede shots on goal in the victory. The Bucs look ahead to a Friday night matchup against the Lincoln Stars at 7:05 p.m. at the Ice Box.

After a scoreless opening frame, Stampede forward Joseph McGraw opened the scoring of the contest with a sharp-angle power-play goal off the skate of Lendak 1:37 into the second period to bring Sioux Falls ahead 1-0. Bucs forward Henry Major evened the score at 10:33, sending a wide-angle shot over Feldbergs' shoulder off a pass from Joey Argentina to show a score of 1-1. Forwrad Luke Norcross brought the Bucs ahead just 19 seconds later with his first goal on the season. Nathan Garski's feed from behind the net found Norcross in the slot, who sent his shot flying to the back of the net to show a score of 2-1.

McGraw netted his second of the night 1:30 into the final frame, sending his shot from the left-wing circle off the draw past Lendak to even the score 2-2. Forward Owen Tylec brought the Bucs back ahead, capitalizing on a 2-on-1 chance with linemate Ryan Seelinger at 10:56. Seelinger sent his cross-ice pass to Tylec, who finished the play for his 16th goal on the season to bring the score to 3-2. Stampede forward Brent Solomon evened the contest once more at 3-3 with a power-play goal from the left-wing circle at 13:03. Tylec netted his second of the night at 17:04, picking up Rhys Wallin's rebounded wrap-around attempt to show a final score of 4-3.

The Buccaneers' road streak ends in Sioux City on Friday, Apr. 3, as they take on the Musketeers at Tyson Events Center. The Bucs return for their final home game of the regular season on Saturday, April 4, as they host the Sioux City Musketeers at 6:05 p.m. It is Fan Appreciation Night, featuring a team photo magnet giveaway at the door and a post-game autograph session with the entire Bucs team!
