HAT TRICK LIFTS STAMPEDE OVER BUCS 5-0

Sioux Falls, S.D. — The Des Moines Buccaneers (3-3-2-2) fell 5-0 to the Sioux Falls Stampede (7-2-1-0) Sunday evening at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. A short-handed goal by Stampede forward Juho Keinanen 11:59 into the contest proved to be the game-winner, supported by a hat trick for foward Brent Solomon. Stampede goalie Linards Feldbergs (5-1-1-0) posted a shutout, backstopping the Sioux Falls win with 23 saves. Bucs goalie Logan Hughes (0-1-0-0) stopped 26 of 31 shots on goal. The Bucs return home for a double-header against the USA NTDP U-17s, kicking off Friday, Oct. 24, at 7:05 p.m.

Sioux Falls forward Juho Keinanen opened the scoring of the contest 11:59 into the first period, capitalizing on a 2-on-1 breakout with defenseman Anthony Bongo for a short-handed goal that gave the Stampede the 1-0 lead.  Forward Brent Solomon doubled the Sioux falls lead on the power play at 15:06, bringing the score to 2-0.

Solomon netted his second and third goals of the night 5:09 and 14:00 into the middle frame, the latter on the Stampede power play, to extend the Sioux Falls lead to 4-0. Another power-play goal by Stampede forward Logan Renkowski at 18:28 and a scoreless third period showed a final score of 5-0.
