WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — The Buccaneers are excited to announce the addition of Emily Reynolds to the hockey operations team as Skating Coach. Reynolds has coached many hockey players in the Des Moines area for more than 15 years.
Reynolds bring a strong background in edge work, power skating, body awareness, and agility to her work with hockey players. Her training is focused on developing efficient, powerful movement that translates directly to the game. She emphasize stride length, explosive starts, edge control, efficient turns, balance, and body positioning to help athletes maximize their speed, agility, and confidence on the ice.
Reynolds has worked with players ranging from mites to professional-level athletes, including Division I college players and former Des Moines Buccaneers players, including Noah Ellis and Braden Rourke, over the last several summers. She has also had the opportunity to coach alongside Erik Cole, former Des Moines Buccaneer and Stanley Cup Champion with the Carolina Hurricanes. Her goal is to give each athlete the technical foundation and skating tools needed to become a stronger, more efficient, and more confident player while ultimately enhancing their performance and enjoyment of the game.
Outside of hockey, Reynolds enjoys spending time with my family at the lake, traveling, and cheering on her kids in their activities. She incredibly excited for the opportunity to work with the Des Moines Buccaneers coaches, athletes, and entire organization and to contribute to the continued development and success of Buccaneers hockey.
