Bucs captain Joey Argentina netted his third short-handed goal on the season for the lone goal of the middle frame at 6:03. Argentina earned a partial breakaway as his shot just barely crossed the goal line, assisted by defenseman

Lancers forward Ryan Aaronson put Omaha on the board with a short-handed goal 6:55 into the final frame, cutting the Bucs lead to 2-1. Des Moines defenseman Becker Wenkus' shot from the blue line at 10:35 bounced past Sciere for his third on the season, assisted by forward Sam Wooten.
