We are excited to showcase another Buc-tastic Billet Family: John and Carolyn Seuferer!
The Seuferers started out as casual Bucs fans, attending several games for many years. They got the idea to billet through John's sister, who used to host players herself. "We had always talked about how if we ever had a spare bedroom we would [billet]," they said.
John and Carolyn have been billeting for the Bucs for two seasons. Their first year, they housed defenseman Brady Smith, and during the 2024-25 season they housed Harper Searles, who was joined by Peyton Blair towards the end of the year. They have also housed a couple of affiliate players during their stays in Des Moines.
Their most memorable moment from the 2024-25 season was when Peyton and Harper answered the door, accidentally letting out their dog, Nova (don't worry—they got the dog back). They've enjoyed the little moments like these they have had with their players, that make them feel like family.
The Seuferers see billeting as an opportunity to make an impact by supporting young hockey players as they chase their dreams. "We both know how helpful it is to have people support your dreams," they said. "And we want to be able to help the players go after their dreams." They also enjoy making new memories with their players and seeing up close how much effort it takes to compete as a high-level hockey player.
Thank you, John and Carolyn, for opening your homes to Bucs players over the past two seasons. The unwavering support and generosity you have shown them does not go unnoticed!
