West Des Moines, Iowa — The Des Moines Buccaneers (8-9-2-3) fell to the Sioux City Musketeers (10-14-1-0) in a 2-0 loss Friday night at the MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex. Musketeers forward Trey Jefferis put up both goals for Sioux City, and Musketeers goalie Jack Fichthorn (5-7-0-0) posted a shutout with 24 saves. The Bucs look ahead to a Saturday night faceoff against the Omaha Lancers tomorrow night at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
Forward Trey Jefferis put the Musketeers on the board with the lone goal of the opening frame, sneaking in a shot from the crease at 2:06 to give Sioux City the early 1-0 lead.
Jefferis put up his second tally of the night with a partial breakaway goal 12:55 into the second period, widening the Musketeers advantage to 2-0. After a scoreless final frame, Sioux City took the ultimate 2-0 victory.
The Bucs head to Omaha tomorrow night for a 6:05 p.m. puck drop against the Lancers at Liberty First Credit Union Arena.
