URBANDALE, Iowa – The Des Moines Buccaneers are winners of three straight games heading into this weekend's home weekend, hosting the Omaha Lancers on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and the league-leading Fargo Force on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
It's Family Weekend for the Bucs, as we will recognize Billet Families on Friday night and Player Families on Saturday.
Saturday brings Des Moines one of its biggest events of the year, the 18
th Annual Guns N Hoses game. Des Moines Area Police and Fire Departments will face off in a charity game at 1:00 p.m. at Buccaneer Area, followed by a concert in the Bucs Lounge, and the 6:00 p.m. puck drop for the Buccaneers and Fargo.
Des Moines will be wearing specialty jerseys that will be auctioned after the game. Proceeds from the Guns N Hoses event, their raffles, silent auction and the postgame jersey auction will all benefit Easterseals Iowa.
Last year's event raised $68,000 for Easterseals Iowa. Fundraising is well underway with nearly $5,000 in donations collected at the annual Donut Drive held on February 3 outside Buccaneer Arena.
This year's Guns N Hoses theme is "Sold Out Show" as they want to 'rock' Buccaneer Arena and raise as much money as possible for Easterseals, but the event itself is
NOT sold out! Tickets are still available, with one ticket covering both Guns N Hoses games on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at the Ticket Office in person or by calling 515-278-2827, or online at
