URBANDALE, Iowa -- For one night only, the USHL's Des Moines Buccaneers will become the Des Moines Barkaneers.

Saturday, Feb. 18, the Des Moines Barkaneers will host the Sioux Falls Stampede on the night of the team's annual Doxie Dash, sponsored by Raising Cane's. The wiener dog races will highlight a night that features Barkaneers merchandise, official game pucks, specialty jerseys and a postgame auction, with proceeds from the auction benefiting Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Complete with name and logo changes, the Barkaneers will take to the ice at "Barkaneer Arena, The Doghouse on Hickman."

"Perennially, the Doxie Dash game is a staple on our home schedule. The Animal Rescue League has been a great partner and does a tremendous job of getting a great number of dachshunds on the ice for our fans to enjoy," said Des Moines Buccaneers President Nate Teut.

"The Barkaneers idea was created late in the season last year and we are very excited to see the vision of The Barkaneers come to fruition this weekend."

The puck drops at 6:00 p.m. with tickets available at tickets.bucshockey.com or by calling the Ticket Office at 515-278-2827. The Doxie Dash will take place at the first intermission.
